MEET ADA

Allow us to introduce ADA…

Step into a realm where art and technology unite as we unveil ADA, a digital creation born from the collaboration of Maggie Roberts and Fran Hayes. Layered and folded, Roberts gifted Hayes a single tentacle from which Fran moulded a body of digital clay. Commissioned by IMT, ADA pushes the boundaries of artistic expression, capturing a moment of transformation and reflection.

Hayes sculpted ADA in the digital realm, transcending the ordinary using Blender, an open-source 3D modelling and animation program. Inspired by Roberts’ profound Becoming Octopus meditation series, created for the IMT exhibition, This is a Not-Me in 2020, ADA embodies the essence of evolution, think Dr. Who regenerations. ADA is more than just a work of art; they are a symbol, a statement, and a testament to the times we live in.
As connoisseurs of art and technology would note, ADA’s name pays homage to Ada Lovelace, the pioneer of computer programming, who envisioned machines going beyond mere calculations. In fact, she wrote the very first algorithm for Charles Babbage’s Analytical Engine.

ADA’s digital body resonates with the intellect within the machine, pulsating with the energy of a time-traveling Tardis. This multifaceted creation takes on various forms, each more enchanting than the last.

In this exclusive limited edition, ADA shimmers gracefully on metallic paper, taking on an exquisite luminescence, elevating her allure and making her a truly collectible piece of art. Don’t miss the opportunity to own one of the 23.
