WELCOME
TO OUR
DIGITAL RESIDENCY

Our Digital Residency, charts the development of seven multimedia artists/collectives over the course of 2022; selected by IMT and through an open call.

The Digital Residency artists/collectives are: Rieko Whitfield, Frankie Roberts, Bijan Moosavi, REACTOR, I. Nakhla, Ellie Towers and 0rphan Drift. Explore their monthly releases below.
Rieko weaves immersive worlds with speculative mythologies, decentring narratives of Western capitalist individualism toward beyond human collectivism.

Frankie employs magpie tools: bright colours, vivid projections and lulling harmonies, to give an inner monologue to the grime and glamour of contemporary living.

Bijan draws upon the aesthetics of corporate advertising, sci-fi movies, popular culture and the Islamic kitsch, to look at the implications of the expansion of neo-liberalism in the Middle East.

REACTOR is an art collective exploring the effects of different forms of collaboration, creating social microcosms with their own internal symbols, logic and meanings.
Nakhla works with audio recordings, writing, drawing and performance, shapeshifting, transcending and magnifying voice as an act of queer-feminist protest and play.

Ellie’s practice interweaves autobiographical and fictional encounters into digital and physical psycho-geographies that warp the visual and social expectations of landscapes.

0rphan Drift’s Nine Brains project, explores the boundaries of machine vision and octopus embodiment through artist collective as avatar.
